I've been thinking of setting up my drive and eq pedals in front of a GT-8 and inserting the external pedals into the GT-8 effects chain after the wah and compression. The idea is to exploit the functionality of the GT-8 and still some good low to med-high gain drive going. Amp models will be off and I'll be going direct to the amp. GT8 will be used as a pedalboard. . So it will be Guitar->GT8 input->GT8 Send...External Pedals...GT8 Return->Amp Input.
Has anyone done something like this? Maybe not with the GT8 but with other multi-effect units. What was the results? I'd be interested. I'll only get to check this idea over the weekend.

Shoe! This is quite and old post found while searching for some solution to a hybrid board.
The question is "Is it worth the effort?" and secondly what would the train sequence be?
My stomps are in the following order: Danelectro Compressor, Behringer Blues OD, Ibanez CS9, Danelectro Trem and Danelectro reverb. I still have to decide where I want to put my DD3 delay.
So the big question where in the train should I place my Digitech RP360XP to make full use of the volume pedal and use my other pedals at the same time.
I do have a JTM 60 with a separate effects loop.
I currently play rhythm in a country, light rock band as well as Sunday contemporary worship music.
Advice much appreciated
