  • Looking for an Ibanez RG3550ZDX / RG3550MZ

Hey

Day before yesterday I clicked the buy now button on Ebay for an Ibanez RG3550MZ. Next day the idiot lets me know he already sold it >☹ :'(
Would've had it Tuesday afternoon as some family members are in Europe and they would've brought it back :'(

I contacted Music Connection, TOMS Braamfontein and TOMS Rivonia but no one gets back to you. R15000-R20000 sale not motivating enough ???

Anyway...

Does anyone know a guy who knows a guy who knows how to make a dream come true ? ?

Thanks so much in advance for any advice!
Cheers!

Found the guitar I'm looking for the other day on the website of a shop in the US of A
Order, paid and just waiting for it to come to SA
      Ibanez rules! Stunning Axe!
        Awesome Axe!!!

Lets see more pics when she arrives
Gotta love Ibanez! Good luck with your search.

for a moment by looking at the pic, I thought it had a useless Ibanez Pro trem like all the other Prestige's..
I was about to say to get your head read...why bother importing that?
And edge or edge lo pro trem woulda been the better spec option...

So i received this yesterday ?
I was too busy to playing so i didn't post pics.
              It's absolutely AMAZING!!!
It's gonna take a while to adjust to the neck...
It's a bit wider than my Warlock's neck but thinner and D shape instead of my Warlock C shape and I absolutely LOVE it!
The higher up frets (12-24) are WAY easier to play than on my Warlock.
I quite like the fact that the neck is a little wider. With some licks in the high frets I play I would sometimes be unable to cleanly play the all the notes. My fingers couldn't comfortably fit in next to each other at higher speeds. I don't have that problem at all on the Ibanez. My fingers can move fast and comfortably next to each other even up to the 24th fret.

I took some photos but also attached photos the shop took

You can't see it on the photos but the white looks BEAUTIFUL! It like a metallic white. Small gold flakes in the white.

Just want to polish the frets a little. It's the only thing on the guitar that looks second hand. Everything else is in MINT condition!
The floyd rose was luckily well taken care of and it stays in tune 100%
Now it's time to learn to really use it well.

Always was an Ibanez fan, but when I got my first 24 fret guitar, 25,5" scale neck, i struggled to go back to 22 fret 24.75"...
So i stuck to my Warlock since 2007. Still have my Iceman as well.
I never really liked the RG series cause all of them i've always played on in the last 12 years, were the crappy ones, but when I saw this 3550 a few months ago, saw the specs, it just triggered and I knew it's the one.
Got my two dream guitars ?

I got my Blackouts here and also got a single coil Blackout AS-1. Not the humbucker, an actual single coil.
I didn't expect these Dimarzios to sound so good... I can't decide if i want to install my blackouts haha
I'm amazed how defined every note is. It just pops out.
I'm excited about what it's gonna do for my playing because i'm gonna have to play with a perfection that i never have had to before...

                Wonderful! Congrats & enjoy!

Pearl and metallic whites are very understated and classy. As is the pinstriping in the neck.
                  Beautiful guitar...all the best!

I'm going to TOMS Rivonia just now, I'm definitely going to tell them the story about the sale they lost on this guitar.

SA Music Stores, wake the F up!
Is it pinstriping or a 5 piece neck?
                    Congrats, its gorgeous!

Thanks ? first time ever having a white guitar. Never thought I would love a white finish this much ??? ?
I think the black hardware is the icing on top hehe

lol yeah indeed :-\ although it did work out in my favour cause I got a RG3550 for R11.5k without customs and shipping instead of the -+R20k it would've cost me if I bought it first hand. Still, they did lose a big sale ?
A person would even just appreciate a call back saying it's not possible to get it at all. It's the small things hey...
I think that's maybe one of the reasons why I almost never buy from brick and mortar stores these days. The number of times I've been waited for someone to call me back LOL
I just need to get the strings I use online at a good price and then I'll probably never need to go to a music store ???

It's a 5 piece neck ? Maple and walnut layers.
                        :goodtimes: Congrats!! :goodtimes:

She's a beaut. I absolutely adore higher-end RG's... They are crafted to very high standards. More consistent quality and better finished than most of the big brands at the same and slightly higher price point in my experience. Upper fret access is also very liberating if you're not used to RG's

                        Enjoy!!! ?
                          It's a beautiful instrument indeed.

What online shop did you buy it from, and what did import duties come to?

I got it from a shop Brians Guitars. http://briansguitars.com
Looks like their second hand stuff is top notch condition stuff.
Saw a PRS there for like $10400 ???

I paid R2031 for all the clearance, although I also bought two sets strap locks, a 3-way blade switch, locking nut shims and a Seymour Duncan Blackout AS-1. So it did push the total up just a little bit, but it is still a little higher than I calculated it should've been, not much. I think I probably paid VAT on shipping charges ??? >☹
Well when the guitar got here I couldn't care less haha
