Good day Im looking to buy a new amp any kind valve or en solid state i want to know what is your go to amp if you play

They're simple, don't require overdrive pedals and can play any venues / bedrooms. And I made them. I love them.

My go to amp was my marshall DSL401... I need to replace the rectifier... (I have the parts...just not the time right now).

I've been using my Boss GT8 direct into the PA now... and it's actually working better for the context I play in... So I am selling off my pedals and amp and am going to get a better multi effects pedal.

where will you be playing? Live? Bedroom? Touring?

As a matter of interest, what are you aiming for? The GT-8 is an underrated effects powerhouse.

I'm looking at the Line 6 POD HD500X...
I really dig my GT8 but I want some more control...
I've been using the expression pedal switch and the control button to control stuff...
I know you can connect two external control buttons to it to control stuff, so I'm gonna give that a go.

How would you rate the HD500X?

Yeah - you can add a pair of switches or an expression to the control input. Plus MIDI control if you really need a lot more control.

The amp models in the HD are light years ahead of the Boss. Effects are pretty good too - nothing to go nuts over, but enough to do what most folk want.

That was my thinking also... and after selling my pedals I will have almost enough to buy the line 6. It comes with many more switches to toggle stuff 8) and it is newer/flashier than the GT8.

Bummer, you might have to use a reshipper, find a store on E-Bay (who are often less sticky about shipping restrictions) or wait for one to pop up second hand locally.

If you want an amp that's very portable, sounds wicked, has 127 presets with modulation, delay and reverb, all controlled with a nice compact 4 switch footswitch then there is only one choice. The Blackstar ID30TVP. This bad boy is fkn loud for 30w and the tone is great. the Cubes cannot match this amp for pure tone. I'm getting the ID60TVP head next ? Hopefully for my 50th next year hint hint. ?

I jammed alongside a mate who was using a Fender Strat into a Fender Hot rod custom tube amp and his eyebrows were raised when I played the first note on my Ibby plugged straight into the Blackstar on a OD1 setting with 6L6 valve power stage emulation engaged. I told him jokingly "don't try turn up your delicate little bottle powered crate or I will have to turn this baby to 12 o'clock and you will become muffled background noise". lol 8) Seriously though I picked it up in mint condition for R3000 and a Fender tube amp costs 4 times the amount and will NOT kick the Blackstars arse.

Blackstar may not be an old brand like Fender, Marshall or Vox but they have made a big impact in the guitar amp market and got the attention of many a guitar wielding madman. They are musicians as well as some ex Marshall engineers_ passion and experience, gotta be a good combination. I like the programmable ID series because my tone possibilities are basically endless.

BTW - I have been using my Micro Cube at rehearsals (it's so easy to carry about) and I must say It is an amazing little machine. It cuts through the drums and bass easily and sounds great with my Tele. Definitely one of the best investments that I have ever made.

I couldn't agree more! ? Sounds great with a Stratocaster and Universe as well... 8)
