So, a while back, in my search for a nice drive to go with my Lovepedal OD11 and VOX Ice 9, I spent many hours scouring youtube demo's and online reviews of various pedals before settling on one pedal that seemingly suited my tastes and needs.

I decided to take the plunge, but this required a 'blind buy' as I wasn't able to actually test one of these pedals out on my setup since it had to be imported all the way from the US, though the reputation of the company concerned helped ease my mind here. So I ordered it online and sat (im)patiently awaiting its arrival. Three weeks or so passed, and still no sign of it arriving. My fingers were twitching awaiting its arrival!

Finally, a slip was delivered to my house telling me my eagerly awaited prize was awaiting me at my local post office. I ran to collect it, and opened the package like an excited child at Christmas. There it was before me looking all shiny!

The only setback was that I had just moved house, and hadn't been able to set up my gear in my studio yet, so I couldn't try it out! Another two weeks passed as I still hadn't managed t get my studio in order, having to concentrate on other things first after the chaos of the house move. An opportunity arose one evening when I had a night off from the chaos, and visited Mojojojoojojojoe. I took my new toy round with me, and Joe and I plugged it in. First impressions were very pleasing, and the peddle did 'exactly what it said on the tin', delivering the kind of character it is designed to produce!

Another week later, I finally got my studio in enough order to give it a quick try out, and the pedal again delivered this character, only this time it seemed a little bright and brittle. This appears to be the character of my AC15 compared to Joe's amps, so I feel I need to do more experimentation to get the tone I am wanting, but the basics are there. Time will deliver the results I'm sure!!

So after all that blurb, and without further adoo, here's some pics of my new Lovepedal High Power Tweed pedal.

And the very tidy insides.....

And fitted nicely on my pedal board....

The LL is more of a tweedy pedal innit? AC's can be fussy...

    That board's looking rather good!
Yer, the original Les Lius is very tweedy, and this is a kinda adaption of the Les Lius without the second half of the circuit (boost if I remember correctly on the Les Lius?). It really does emulate a tweed very well, and has all the expected character there. I haven't had much time to play with it on my AC15 yet, so I haven't gotten to the sweet spot yet, but I'm sure I'll get there soon as I get to spend some time with it.

I'm very happy with how my pedal board is coming along. I still intend to add one or two things, and still need to connect the favourite switch to my El Capistan, but the results I'm getting are very pleasing so far. I'm actually running the board in stereo, but I'm trying to sell off some gear to be able to buy another AC15 to enhance the setup. I have been using the TB18 with the AC15, and it sounds fantastic in stereo, but I want the trem, so a second AC15 will be ideal. I want to try using the trem on one set fast, and the other set a little slower. I'd imagine it would really create a wonderful effect, esepcially with the El Capistan creating space and width. Anyway, I'm getting off topic there! ?

I built a Les Luis double switch pedal. The double switch just adds a clean boost, you're right. I LOVE mine. It has that lil' 3 way switch that switches between fender tones. I found it to give me some nice smooth overdrive. Granted, I was using it on my Fender Champ, so, my amp is definitely not as bright as an AC15.

That board is looking amazing! Strymon ftw! ?
          Thanks Paul.

I was able to use the AC15 without any tone cut at all before I got the Tweed, and was very happy with the results, so I'd like to try and keep it that way, but if I have to use a little to tame the tweed then so be it.

With regards to the Strymons, before I got the Ola, I had always had the thought that they were overpriced, and far more expensive than my wallet would justify for the features, but now that I'm familiar with them, and aware of the quality of sound, and extent of their features, I am a real convert! The same can be said for Lovepedal too. Brilliant quality!

Since the arrival of the Strymons, I have cleared a lot of gear off my board, and am becoming much more focused on what I'm actually aiming for!
