Is there anything else that you do as a hobby besides playing guitar?
(eg. collect things, do sport, etc.) 8)

I collect books and DVDs about music and musicians. Does that count? :-[
Oh yes, and I fanatically support Liverpool Football Club (since 1976). ☹

I can sit for hours and stare at my guitars. Is that far enough removed from playing them to count as a different hobby?

I am designing and building guitars and guitar amps, guitar and hifi speakers and I hang around on guitar forums too much. Oh plus the occasional pathetic attemps to play golf.
Since people are mentioning their favourite soccer team, I will say mine's Ajax.
The Amsterdam one of course!

Golf. started playing about 2.5 years ago and it gives me 4 - 5 hours where every single other problem I may have does not exist. I like rugby and I like cricket but dont support any team in particlular. Sort of support individuals. Kind of whacks you when you try to support a side and next thing a player you enjoy to follow changes club or province. Anyway, it does me. I want to start collecting someting but I dont know what. I had snakes but feeding them is a sweat. They start to shed and then they dont want to eat, ag and they dont come when you call them.

Ride :woohoo: I love my Fazer.
Sadly I didn't ride this morning, now I'm bangin' the guitar hard as I wind down my Sunday evening. ?

Like Ray I am also a golfer. I'm not very good at it but for at least 4 hours the only problem I have is golf. ?

I'm pretty pathetic, as just about all my hobbies are music related. Used to be a major reader (can and did read a book a day), but even my reading has been almost exclusively music tech in recent years. Used to be into quantum physics, but am so far behind on string theory that I might as well be a rank beginner.
I do watch a few DVDs - mostly British comedy and detective series (recently Doc Martin, Black Books, Foyle's War, Touch of Frost, etc.) with a few American things like House M.D., Rome and Dexter thrown in for balance.

DEXTER! HELL YEAH DUDE!! AWESOME!
Just got the third season today! can't wait to watch it! best show ever!
I read quite a bit. Mainly fantasy novels...
I guess my main hobby is procrastination. No one can even come close to besting
me at that.
I guess it is mainly music though.

I like learning the science of stuff ... then designing stuff ... then making stuff ... then playing with the stuff.
I've dabbled a bit with woodwork to help with the 'making stuff' part.
Recent applications have been on astronomy and african music.
I have 2 telescopes and a mirror waiting for a telescope to be built around it (and probably never will).
I've realised that the sale of said mirror can finance some desired music stuff.
(seeing Saturn's rings with your own eyes is actually a 'wow' moment, as corny as that sounds)
This forum has heard about my little marimba's ad nauseam so won't expand further.
I also play bad golf, despite having spent a significant amount of time playing it.
I think my son overtook my skills when he was about 10.

tough one.
I had so many hobbies in my life i stopped counting, let see, building model airplanes, skateboarding, bmx'ing, taking some of my dad's old audio equipment apart and customizing it to my needs(Think this is where all hell broke loose and was a trigger to playing guitar, and eventually customizng guitars), played golf(only lasted a month), collecting posters of guitar hero's, and eventually dropped everything and stayed with music.

Raising Kids - My biggest hobby at the moment, I am enjoying it though. 10 year old daughter who is quite arty, she is learning guitar and quite into it. 7 year old son who is a fact gobbler, want's to know everything about everything.
Have got him Encyclopedia's and Fact books, he is also a fanatical cricket and football fan.
I have keep up try and keep date in all these areas.
A few others - reading and hopefully Gym soon.

I'm a keen hunter, hoping to get my licences soon so I can go hunting this year using my own rifle. Currently also reading the Diablo novels.

Time is a problem for me... I like woodworking but lately, instead of nice woodwork projects, most of my time have been spent constructing things around the house, most importantly my music room/home studio. Jobs around the house that need doing just never seem to end, so I don't know when again I'll get around to pure, pointless and enjoyable woodworking such as a nice project just for the sake of it.
I would like to try my hand at some guitar mods, or even some guitar building at some point.
Otherwise: family life, reading a lot. I'm one of those who can't just go to bed at night and switch off the bedside lamp. I read until I fall asleep, wake up and read a bit more, and so on until finally the book falls to the floor and my wife switches off the light... ?
I used to be into scuba diving big time, but sadly I haven't dived for over ten years.
