I've been to some Rumours events where they rotate between the two stages. Usually works fairly well.
Yes, I just don't want to be the one to manage that, also I have no idea how Rumours work, do you get the whole venue with sound and engineers for the whole day, do you pay for that? I don't know, they are not very informative at this stage. They just gave me the date and answered none of my other questions.
not sure on rumours but usually venues will charge if you use their sound system and if you do you usually need to take the inhouse soundguy and pay him too ...
so it will cost money unless someone is the owners 'cousin" .... ?
if you have access to a sound system .....it would be easier to get a venue where there is no inhouse sound..... BUT that entails making sure there is sufficient gear ...and someone to operate it ...
also in venues other than established music venues you will need to check if "noise " will be a problem ...as we all know in jhb you will be shut down by polce if its too noisy and residents complain.....so that would lead me to think of a venue like rumours or amuse .... where noise is a common occurrence
and yes find out what an inhouse engineer and PA would cost as that would be easiest ...especially for the louder bands ....
