What are referrals? You can refer someone to me for guitar lessons (or maybe you could refer them to a real guitar teacher) :bopping:
What is the +1 I see from time to time? That's how many ppl didn't like all my chirp. :-[
What is the meaning of life? Can I come back to you on this one...? :-\

Probly very much the same as all the other forums. :-\

What is Karma? (in the context of this forum) -> That is when you've done something good for the forum and you get applauded.
What are referrals? -> They had a referral competition once where you could win prizes for the most referrals. You have link in you user profile (CP) that you can send friends and co-workers to refer them to the site. When they join using your referral link, you get a point.
What is the +1 I see from time to time? -> That is when somebody is impressed with your advise or statement.
What is the meaning of life? -> I know, but I'm not allowed to say ?

bwahahaha. nice dude

+1 normally means the poster agrees with what was said.

Any bigger number than "1" is the exaggeration/extent to which he/she agrees.

The meaning of life is still unsolved, the meaning of my life however is to be better at everything than myself everyday.

Meaning of life:

I read "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" one night ... from midnight until 6am ... while on guard duty in the army in the transport park at Youngsfield.
A memorable life experience.
Suspect it was the whole package deal of circumstances that branded it as unique.

I now read Jeremy Clarkson for fun.

That sucks , no guitarforum!!! ? ?

Karma is a sign of respect or a "Noddy badge" that your peers give you for saying or doing something they appreciate. Bad Karma is what you get get from taking the last popadom off the plate at an Indian restaurant, or is that acid reflux, I'm not quite sure?

Referrals are when you get your friends to join GFSA and they indicate so on the membership application.

+1 Is an indication that you agree with previous members comments. ++++++++1 means that you pressed the plus key too hard

The meaning of life... ho hum, constitutes a philosophical question concerning the purpose and significance of human existence. The concept can be expressed through a variety of related questions, such as Why are we here?, What's life all about? and What is the meaning of it all?. It has been the subject of much philosophical, scientific, and theological speculation throughout history and there have been a large number of answers from many different cultural and ideological backgrounds. The meaning of life is deeply mixed with the philosophical and religious conceptions of existence, consciousness, and happiness, and touches on many other issues, such as symbolic meaning, ontology, value, purpose, ethics, good and evil, free will, conceptions of God, the existence of God, the soul and the afterlife. Scientific contributions are more indirect; by describing the empirical facts about the universe, science provides some context and sets parameters for conversations on related topics. An alternative, human-centric, and not a cosmic/religious approach is the question "What is the meaning of my life?" The value of the question pertaining to the purpose of life may be considered to be coincidental with the achievement of ultimate reality, if that is believed by one to exist. Oh how I love plagiarising Wikipedia

There is no intrinsic meaning. What matters is what you mean (or don't).

But if you want a snappier answer: Life is a terminal, sexually transmitted disease.

Thank you. I'm here all week.

Wizard wrote I now read Jeremy Clarkson for fun.

As do I, love his pieces.

ps: Karma for you.

Why? Because I know there are other users on this forum that are wondering the same thing but haven't asked. They're thanking you.

I almost choked on my morning coffee and toast when I saw this.. hahahaha

Thanks Spyke !!
I got karma for asking about karma ...

Something about the self-referencing there that I really enjoy.
karma begets karma.

Wizard

How does one give karma?
And who is allowed to give it?

Spyke

Simple, just click on [applaud] under the user you wish to bestow karma upon. Anyone can hand it out.

Seen a good post that answered a question you asked? Give the guy (gal) karma. It helps newer users identify the reliable sources and judge their contribution to the forum.
You get karma points for entering the weekly competition.

FatBoy

You click the applaud link below the posters name to the left. I believe anyone is allowed to, though not 100% sure. Basic rule of thumb on the net for me is "If I can see the link, I am allowed to click it".
