Realistic strings...

Looking at possibly upgrading my keyboard to (hopefully) a full 88 key with weighted GHS keys. Was looking at a Yammy but their string quality sux something aweful. Has that nasty synth vibrato. Budget will also not allow for a mini grand. Any suggestions? Want a good Piano, strings, maybe bass sounds.

Nitebob wrote Hi Alan...think the download might be the issue...

Yeah, that's what I thought. Go back to them and download and install the library.

Only other thing about the Yammie is no pitch bender or shifter....will a guitar pedal work...hehe

Yeah, and there's no whammy on an acoustic guitar either. ? Similarly, an electric piano and a keyboard are different things.

So.....

Finally had the wifi sorted and re-downloaded Kontakt....still no instruments in the memory bank...

Any other Reaper compatible midi controller's out there?

Let me re-phrase...Reaper doesn't have instruments...how do i fix this

Mixerboy

You fix it with this: $$$

It's still worth it at the end of the day, most of the stuff I'd buy I would buy even if I had a more complete package like Sonar or Logic that comes with a bunch of bundled software and loops etc.

Nitebob

Ahhh...in other words, do your midi in Ableton, cause you have it and it works....then export as wav to Reaper and add the rest.... ?

Mixerboy

OR, if I'm not mistaken, you can ReWire Ableton to Reaper and vice versa and do whatever you do in either or.

So the problem is with Reaper, not Kontakt? Do you get the instrument libraries when you open the standalone version? If not, contact NI tech support. Don't just give up on it.

No instruments in Kontakt, downloaded it twice, same problem...
