Crown Headset mics

Anyone use a Crown CM-311A? Are they available locally? Any other suggestions/alternatives.
I've been looking into headset mics lately and that seems to be the one to look at. Excellent noise cancelling and rejection, relatively good low end for a headset mic. I'm specifically looking at the CM-311A as I want to use XLR and phantom power and have no need for wireless.
I know AKG markets a version, but with the AKG mini connector that needs an overpriced adaptor if you want to use XLR and phantom. Anyone know if you can just chop of the mini connector and just replace with an XLR?

Dear Alan, it would appear that, being the resident guru, it is not your place to ask technical questions. As clear from the lack of answers, the members believe that you are only entitled to answer them... ?

...could also be that as they are not represented locally, there aren't many with experience of them.
However, they really do seem to be different from all the other offerings from Countryman, Sure and the like, which are more designed for size than sound. The noise cancelling/feedback rejection alone sets them apart from the rest.
