  • So I ordered me one of these..... Thoughts?

So, as the title suggests, I've ordered one of these.... http://www.tcelectronic.com/nm-1-nova-modulator/ pedals, but I'm importing it, as I saw one for a super price on eBay (brand new). I'm hoping that it will arrive, but my tracking number appears not to be working, but anyways, that's besides the point.....

What I'd like to know is what you good folks experience of them is? If the Nova System is anything to go by, I think I'm in for a treat, and I really like how its effectively a dual engine processor, with exactly the same effects to choose from for each engine. Very handy for combining say a chorus and flanger together or phaser and trem, or even for running two separate mod effects and switching between them as needed.

Any used/own one?

Regards
G!
Never owned one, but they are great pedals.

Just trying to remember if the power supply is universal or not... I think so, but I always get confused between the Lexicon and TC pedals - one uses universal supplies (just needing a pin adaptor), the other does not. Make sure before you plug it in.

So, I'm still awaiting the arrival of my Nova mod, but I at least know its in SA at the moment. I'm sure Mr. Taxman is working out his percentage before handing it to me!

Still haven't found out about the power connection requirements, but I'm sure I'll find out soon enough!

      Thanks for the comments Alan.

I brought in a TC Electronics Nova Delay from Ebay... I just needed the pin adaptor...
I have a Nova Reverb. A really fantastic pedal. Sounds great, and it's stereo, so that's been fun. ?

In fact, I am seriously considering getting rid of my Line6 MM4 for one of these Nova mods. This takes up less space, and imho, the build is better. And if my reverb is anything to go by, I reckon it'll sound better as well...
            Thanks for the comments guys.

I'm gathering by a pin adaptor you are refering to a polarity reversal adaptor? Or is it just a different sized connector to standard ones?

And FTCL, if my TC Mod ever turns up, I'll let you know my thoughts. The Line6 MM was actually my other choice, and was somewhat tempting, but the Nova Mod just looks so much more promising and proffesional! Let's wait and see?

            Cheers!

By pin adaptor, they are referring to the wall wart PS being an American type two pin plug. You'll need an adaptor to plug it into South African sockets.

The TC powersupplys can run off 100v to 240v, so input voltage isn't a worry.
                Thanks Big G!

p.s Is it fine if I secretly hope you hate it, so that we can trade? ?

Haha! Nice! ? Keep hoping you never know, but I doubt that will be the case!

I am actually somewhat excited to get this through the post soon! Should hopefully arrive within the next week, but who knows? I guess i depends on how much time Mr. Customs can spare to check it through between cuppa's! ?

I also didn't realise it came supplied with its own PSU. I figured it would need one to be supplied?! I can do an adaptor plug for the wallwart no problem! ?

                  Thanks again for the replies,
