Awesome. Although as an architect I have to say that the amount of solid timber used in buildings probably dwarfs the musical instrument trade, and it's not always used responsibly. Good to know that the primary sources are being looked after.
I find it ironic that people actually pay to have a guitar relic'ed, however when it comes to all-black ebony people won't compromise. At least that's the impression the market gives. Imperfections, to an extent, is what makes wood beautiful. Besides, I would much prefer spotted Ebony on a $5000 custom guitar than have compressed cardboard for a fretboard. ?
Props to him for thinking about conservation instead of $$$.
This man deserves a Bell$!
Responsible Care in practice. I so hope that other companies take a lesson from Bob Taylor in sustainable development.
Taylor guitars has my vote and support for ethical business practices.
