Stereo.

Man in my opinion, that's THE impossible choice. In my ideal world, I'd have one of each (Or their smaller siblings). Best of luck figuring this one out.
You heard what Denholm said the other day...the Vox is a great essential studio amp, but for intense live gigging it's been unreliable.
You don't need a studio amp...

The Twin you have has been seriously gigged and it's never broken down.
I had a similar choice to make a while back (only with a Hand Wired AC15). I opted for the Twin and changed the speakers to get a little bit more of the Voxy chime. It was the right choice, but I still miss the Vox now and again. ?

There's a real easy solution to this...

          AC15CCX and DRRI ? ?

Both are epic. I think the real challenge is deciding which flavour is more you
That twin needs a good home! Im accepting donations ?

Just to put it out there: Denholm's is a completely different model. The only similarity between them is they are in a similar tonal ballpark and that they look alike from the outside. Internally they are very different. He has an AC30C2 BRG.
Well if they both do what you need them to do, keep the lightest one.

If I HAD to pick one, I would keep the Twin. Anything with EL84s runs hot and I don't trust heat with PCB.

                  Apologies, didn't know that.
Arent the new Vox Ac30's made in China nowadays ?

Whats the best way to do stereo? Boss Channel selector? Delay pedal to bounce around? or just have one for leads and one for rhythm and switch between them? Not stereo though ?

As long as Joel knows exactly what he wants, it's actually not too difficult to choose between a Twin and an AC30: Sparkly crystal cleans at nearly any volume (but not quiet, bedroom levels) for the former; or slightly hairy cleans to creamy drive for the latter. The AC is never completely clean and can't punch like the Twin, the Twin only breaks up at deafening levels and is a bit harsh when it does. Even with many pedal drives (especially distortion and fuzz), the twin can be a bit edgy (which is why mine ended up with alnico speakers - smooths the edge of drive a little and adds a little natural compression).

Doesn't matter. Are they being well-made should be the only issue - and they are. And it's the single reason they are affordable.

For the amount of mileage I need , I reckon the Vox should cope just fine , in comparison to a fulltime pro's requirements .
I think you made your decision right there ?
Your Vox kicked some serious a$$ at the gig you guys played at,,,,killer tone,,
                            :yup: :yup:

Joel, I have now thought long and hard about your predicament......here is my advice....

The Twin can be an unreliable amp...very much so....and the tone often leaves much to be desired. The AC30 on the other hand will never let you down and its tone is to die for (as you well know).

I would thus strongly suggest that you get rid of that darn Fender Twin...it's heavy and ugly.

(I want a Twin for archtop amplification....serious.....so when you come down here later this year, bring it along...I may just take it)

                              ?
lol, I'm glad I don't have to make the decision. ?

@ Joel, btw. we had an gentlemans' agreement .... right?? ?

                                    ? so there goes my Twin....LOL !

Maybe pull an Owlcaster and put an Alnico Gold in the Twin? Might smooth things out and bring out a bit more chime in the twin ?

Gosh, forgot that the twins are quad 6L6s.. Monstrous things!!!
