Well.... we sent The Parlotones to North America, so I guess it's only fair that they retaliate. ?

Actually I rather like them (and The Parlotones mind you.) Not enough to buy their CD's and certainly not enough to go out of my way to watch them live, but a helluva lot more than some of the other mainstream Disney/hip-hop/bubble-gum crap that gets radio airplay and infinitely more than the so called "Art" created by the bands who are about as real as the produced puppets they love to ridicule.

I saw a clip of them at Rock AM ring. They sound a lot heavier live than what we hear on the radio/album cuts.

Dark Horse was a cool album, wouldn't mind seeing them live. Not quite sure why they get so much hate, but anyway.

What show only costs 40c ? 50 Cent featuring Nickleback.

Yeah I don't understand the disdain . I doubt I would go a see them live, but enjoy there stuff when I hear it. Caught a few songs of a live show on TV and was quite impressed.

I think it's mostly jealousy ?...

But seriously... even if I don't like an artists style... if they "make it" as a band I respect that about them... maybe not how they did it... but they are somewhere I would dig to be... but am not...

I don't especially loathe them, but I think they made themselves easy to hate with that song about how they wanted to be rockstars when they already were. It seemed a bit like a rap song about how much money they've got, but with a twist.

I also seem to remember one song that got a lot of radio play having really REALLY stupid lyrics. The kind of thing that had me shouting at the radio when it came on. But I am a bit difficult like that :-[ And yes, I know, some of the greatest songs (and a lot of my favourites) have really dumb lyrics...

for me, nickelback is incredibly formulaic. i don't particularly dislike them, nor do i particularly like them. i just can't see why anyone would listen to them - normally you listen to a band because they bring something different to the scene.

not these guys. i mean, ffs, they even ALL play prs guitars.

they're about as colourful as 100 different instagrams of eggs benedict, side of ham...

They are quite formulaic... there is a "mix" where you have two of their songs overlapped with one panned left and one panned right... only difference between the two songs is the words... the chords, progression etc is the same...

If you play nickelback backwards you hear satanic messages. Even worse, if you play it forwards you hear nickelback.

Stoked Durban isn't getting a show.

I don't like them because they suck. I think we are all entitled to that opinion without being labelled as haters or jealous of their success. They are a borefest, and Canada owe the world an apology for them, Bieber, Celine Dion, Avril and Bryan Adams.

They get +1 for Our Lady Peace though...

had quite a number of "formulaic" bands/artists tour these shores and did not seem to bother the ticket sales too much (negatively that is)

seems formulaic music sells bums in seats ne,.,,,

good luck to nickelback, lets be honest when they just got big they were kinda cool .......
