Big-G
Very good mic for a dynamic, in the same kind of ballpark as the SM58, but with a nicer top end in my opinion. Everyone will always point people towards a 58 or 57, but out of my selection of mics, the 58's are the ones I use least. Having said that, I do prefer using condensers like the AKG C5 or Shure SM86 on stage, and get much better results from the extra clarity condensers offer.
I also use a D7, and that is a great mic, especially for female vocals. That is my first choice for situations that need a dynamic mic, then the D5. So to conclude, the D5 is a great mic, but the D7 is a good deal better.
Hope that helps?

G!

I bought one recently and haven't been that happy with it. At the time it was between the Beta58 and the D5. Due to the price of the D5 I decided to give it a go, but like I said, unfortunately it just doesn't seem to be working for me. I will hang on to it for now and try it in various settings.
