my latest workhorse.... a partcaster i've been using to slowly mod and refine to get the 'right" tele for me.... and my uses
very happy with the body weight (2 piece alder body)
the vintage 3 saddle bridge is perfect and note it's a toploader ... a personal like
volume and tone pot to my liking
pups ... happy with the bridge pup (vintage (reissue) fender tele bridge pup) gives me just the bite and twang i want which the modern fender bridge pup of my usa standard did not ...
neck is an old japanese neck pup from a jazz guitar from the 60's ... it's 90% right for me.... very much like a charlie christian fat single coil.... but since i use that pup mostly for the jazz i play ... i am thinking of getting a Lollar charlie christian for it .... but this pup i'm currently using is actually working for me and gets pretty close ...so tempted to "not fix what ain't broke" and just leave it be....
guitar is strung with 12's flatwounds and gets great tone
so very happy with tone/ body /colour/weight ...
LAST modding to be done ...is the current neck is not bad but i want to try a 50's vintage style tele neck with 7.25 radius and a thick 'baseball bat feel' ...so still experimenting with the neck though the current kluson copy tuners hold tuning 100% and no need to swop em ....
so anyone have an old 50's styles tele neck lying around...i am looking for one to buy .......... a USA fender neck would be 1st prize but they pretty rare even a good quality replica is fine ...as long as the tele headstock is as fender shapes it
gotta love tele's ... and gotta love that they designed to be modular so my one can be exactly what i want ..... and it's as easy as unbolting a few parts and replacing em
