The guy who made the remark to Tamla is a moron.
He's an exception, the vast majority of men would never make a remark like that.
I think this thread has blown the so called 'problem' way out of proportion.
Am I still missing your point?
You're certainly not acknowledging it.
Yes I am.
Where it exists I acknowledge it, but I still think it's being blown out of proportion.
Tamla and other female musicians have been on this forum for years and they've been treated as fellow musicians, not as female musicians.
In general the guys around here treat our female musician friends/members with great respect and manners, as it should be.
However.
Would it be fair to say that in some cases, for example a heavy metal drummer, a certain physicality/strength is required where a male would have an advantage over a female? (that's why I used the female tennis example).
I'm just asking, so correct me if I'm wrong, would the strength of a male drummer in a heavy metal band not be an advantage?
Try banging drums for 3 hours in a metal band, it's like playing 5 sets at Rolland Garros.
Correct me again if I'm wrong.
When I see orchestras it appears to me that the majority of the time a female is playing the Harp.
If I see a man playing the Harp it looks kind of strange, I might remark, 'wow, a man playing the Harp!'
It's not an insult on the man, it doesn't mean he's any less a Harp player than the woman.
