  • OWL open source programmable pedal

"With some coding and DSP knowledge, the OWL can become any kind of audio effect that you can imagine. Effects can be combined in any number of ways by chaining or switching between them."

Programmers can write patches and make them available. Users send the patches to the pedal via USB.

They decided to seek funding via kickstarter, but it looks like they've got that.

This looks interesting, reminds me of the Openstomp Coyote-1 from a few years back. I think it's success will depend on the patches that get written for it. Digital general purpose platforms are great for things that are tough to do as analog effects, like convincing reverb, pitch shifting, looping and weird convolution effects.
Looks great! I am a sucker for anything that is programmable. It speaks to the nerd in me ?
