Anyone own a pedal that they consider being 'dumble tone'?
What is it? And most importantly, what is the tonal quality that makes it dumble tone?
Someone here uses an Ethos Overdrive IINM. That would be your best example of the Dumble thing, as most of the other pedals only capture one state of the amp.

I've never played through a Dumble, and each and every one is different - created specifically for each player they were made for (and in some cases for a specific guitar), but it seems that the common feature is the kind of singing sustain - even on cleans - that one usually associates with higher gain amp designs.

Robben Ford is usually the poster boy for the "Dumble Tone". Also, Ah Via Musicom era Eric Johnson is largely Dumble.
Looking for more personal ideas of dumble tones.
Know about umble, howie, ethos, zendrive.

I guess more perceived quality's. "Real" Opinions, not gonna get too much fact I guess. Not like we all have a real dumble or 2.
Extreme fake eg. "My DS-1 at this setting gives me dumble tone"... But just seriously what you perceive.

He built each amp to the builder, but really did stay within a fixed design with some varibles.
I'd be surprised if anyone here has had any time on a real one. Very few people anywhere have. That's probably part of the whole myth surrounding them...
I'm trying to convinece a friend of a friend to pick me up a Wampler Ecstacy next month - also a take on the Dumble tone.

          Fingers crossed!

I believe lovepedal also make a D - tone style pedal?
