I Machined this one quite some time ago, bet never got around to get it done.

so far its a 1 piece alder body, with a laminated maple and purpleheart neck, rosewood fretboard, and an ebony inlay on the 12th fret.
i am still trying to decide what finish to with for this one, but i am leaning on Danish oil for the body.
hardware i still have to get.

anyway here is some pics, will update as things happen

Duuuuude! Nice! I'll be watching this one! ?

Did you make that neck yourself?? It's majestic!
First time I see purpleheart in a neck. Looks rad!!

        yes made the neck myself.
and for fretting i went to brian fanner to help me with that, as it saves alot of time and error.

if anyone has any ideas of what i should do with the body, now would be a good to to speak ?
          Try this on an offcut:
          - danish oil
          - steel wool
          - beeswax polish

          See how it comes out.
standard tele electronics, but still open to any new ideas for pickups that wont cost an arm and a leg
Transparent black finish.... Or a cosmic purple to match the purpleheart! 8)
I'm partial to old school Teles. Danish oil, black pickguard.

As for electronics,I like having a four way switch with series and parallel switching options. Some people like the broadcaster/nocaster blend wiring, might be worth trying
i smaak the neck!! very lekker!
You need a body that compliments that purpleheart!!

Send it on my way dude! Looks majestic!
Actually, I think a pickguard with a veneer inlay to compliment the neck stripe would look awesome, too
nice guitar so far manny .... looking forward to seeing how it ends up
                          all the options!!!!

Nick, i am planning something like that for a future build.

since the scratchplate will be wood as well, i might try to stain that light purple and see how well it matches a light brown color ? i will most probably finish the neck first, and then get the body to match to that, and then comes the daunting task of importing some parts again.

but i think i am leaning more towards a natural look
Maybe something like this to match the neck stripe.

                              5 months later
                              ..its been a while

finally got around to do the finish, went with a satin finish

Still need to do the scratchplate, which will be purple by the way, to match the purpleheart in the neck ?

I like the look of that finish ? What did you use?
Why did you not do a roundover? ? I take it you just lightly sanded the edges?
