Its my cynical side at work...... maybe the kid had a surname of Zille or something ....
But strues nuts should I drop a beer into my amp by accident you understand , chances of Fender replacing it with a de luxe twin or something are pretty slim....
Hmmmm..... yeah, there is something that doesn't quite add up here. If Fender replaced or repaired at their expense every amp that had a coke spilled on it they'd not last long. They'd also have to start doing free repairs for every guitar that "my puppy peed on".
Companies do do this, and I understand that. Many years ago I had an Ibanez Blazer, one of the models down the pecking order. There was a problem with the fingerboard and some of the frets didn't seat properly and the repair guy couldn't get them to seat. So the agent replaced for me, and as they didn't have stock I got a better model. It's good customer service. But there was no misuse -accidental or otherwise - on my part.
So there's something else here, something that is special about this particular customer. Or the coke spillage wasn't the real problem and was just coincidental.
