That's disappointing Nico. Were the caps and resistors changed ? The vibrato channel of most oldies don't work.....a very complicated circuit and usually not worthwhile restoring. However I'm sure the other channels can be fixed. Those early AC30's are awesome sounding....good luck. Make sure that your valves, pre-amp and power valves, are in good working order a Bad pre-amp tube will cause a lot of noise. Remove all the pre-amp valves (3 of them) for the vibrato circuit if you have not done so already.
Yes - Karel did a service of the amp but not sure how he missed the noise issue.

Oh yes...you can blend the normal and brilliant channels using a short patch cable between the 2 channels.....plug guitar into the higher sensitivity input of the normal channel, the patch cable going from the other normal input into the higher sensitivity input of the brilliant channel and control/select the tone with the 2 volume controls of the 2 channels....gives very good results.
Going to try that! Run my Bassman like that often.
