What happened to...

I've glued the headstock and it's solid (I tried twisting it to break it and I couldn't...lol).
We're all now advising you based on your epi being in an already fixed position and playing on from there. Your original logic was flawless, I'd fully agree new guitar since it wouldn't have cost you much more than fixing your epi...
But we are now looking at it from the point of view of:
Fixing Epi = R0 (Already fixed)
Buying PRS = R5000/R6000
Assuming you want to upgrade you epi:
Toneriders = R600 for both pickups
Plus some pots and wiring from an electronics store (Mantech) = about R100 for all
(People will call me a heathen but I dont believe in paying R100 for a R10/R15 pot just to get a supposedly better taper...I'll adjust the volume where I want to hear it, whether thats number 5 or number 6 on the dial doesn't matter to me)
...Also you could just put the epi together to replace your stand in guitar and keep you going for the next couple of months while you decide what new guitar you want...
But if the epi is solid and still plays fine you're pretty much in the same position you were in before the headstock broke and may as well carry on with the epi...if it doesn't play fine then its a case of whether its good enough to keep you going or whether you need to hold on to the loaner guitar
