  • Clips for Review and General Guitar double posting

Hey guys
Earlier there was a new guy who had posted a cover video of himself (and videos of several other artists) as his first two posts.
He posted the same thing in two different categories, and I kinda suggested he should rather say hello first, and in the future post his clips only in the clips to review category.

I now see both posts are deleted and I am a bit concerned that I was a dick and chased him away.
Can any of the moderators confirm or deny this?
I thought maybe it could also be a legal issue with his clip, as he seems to have made use of other peoples work too.

Anyone?
Don't take it personal. We don't like getting spammed. Sometimes your posts get caught in the cross fire.
      'Twere I...

I'm not very tolerant of the fly-by-night types coming in and posting vids primarily to promote their YouTube channel. That's why I have the no vids for newbie members rule. It's judged on a case-by-case basis. Some leeway is given for South African members, but I regard those from other countries, who sign up and immediately post (and crossposts) YT clips (usually in the wrong places) as spammers and immediately delete the posts and their profile. I don't even bother letting them know any more - it's too common an occurrence.

Usually you wouldn't even see those kind of posts, but I needed some sleep from 6-10 AM and this one slipped in. ?
        Ah nice to know.
Also nice to know that my sentiments are shared by those in charge.

I think it's pretty obviously a feeling shared by the majority - even SA and Expat members struggle to get anyone to pay attention to or comment on their video/audio posts unless they are active members.
Funny thing this; I started writing a blog. Someone said, to get hits to your blog find a forum and be an active member.

I think know I've written more on GFSA than on my blog... got more hits from the USA on my YouTube channel than anywhere else. ???
