My band got a new drummer at the beginning of this year, awesome guy with a very nice high end electric kit, things are going great but we are quickly running into a problem:

Gigs are starting to line up for this year but most venues because the kit get shared by all the bands they don't want us to set up our kit and break down theirs. We desperately need a drum kit or just the parts needed to gig with. We have been searching Gum Tree for cheap kits, but most of them are complete crap or too expensive for our current budget.

So if you have a kit we can borrow for the 17th and 30th of March we will greatly appreciate it. Or if you know where we can rent a kit please PM me.

Oh, yes. Johannesburg area please, we are willing to rent the kit for those dates.

Please help.
Why not just use the other band's kit? That's pretty SOP...

IMO, the main act calls the shots as it has major implications on sound and setup. If you're the main act then you can specify they use your kit. Many drummers are wary of them until they actually play them, so maybe get the other band's drummer to try it ahead of time and his reservations might disappear.

BTW, I know Kevin Gibson loves his Roland, but Paul Tizzard gets that "just tasted something bad" expression when you mention electronic kits. ?
