In what capacity were you involved?

I listened to a few metalcore bands in the past; Killswitch Engage (early material), Heaven Shall Burn etc but very little these days, absolutely every sounds the same to me; riffs, vocals, structure.

I really like the clean vocals. But the dirty vocals are just a little too much for me - but thats just personal preference, keep in mind I listen to very little metalcore.

Its a good track! I like it.

21Fretter I did all the bass work on the album and some vocal editing. They from the UK so i could only do so much.

Thanks Epictring. Yeah i figured most people on this forum dont listen to the heavier variety of music. I have no problem with any genre, i love music more than specific genre's. And i run a studio so i cant be picky even if i wanted to ? Thanks for giving it a listen though, its more than most people would do.

Metal fan checking in. While I never was much of a fan of metalcore, I actually like this. A lot. Damn fine work.

I'm gonna echo Epictring's sentiments: I love the clean vocals and all the rest, but remain unaffected by the metalcore-style screaming/growling. Just personal preference though.

I LOL'd at the boyband style music video and I generally enjoyed the track. Guitars sounded a bit harsh to me but it could just be my headphones.

If, say, singemonkey posted a clip and asked for feedback I probably would listen and probably would give him my verdict because he does do something other than make posts along the lines of "what do you think about my track?"

I dont think this is a fair statement over here Bob. This is a forum to rate a submitted track, not about how many posts a person has put up or their "status" within the g-forum.

If you think that people(even noobies) shouldnt post their ideas then get Allen to remove the right to do so until we all become Hero members.
You have a huge reputation here on the forum which I respect and I'm very surprised if not shocked by your response☹

I would move along with it and post your concerns about member loyalty in a different thread.
We are here to rate this track.

I'm not for one minute suggesting that everybody has to adopt the position I've outlined, though I think it does explain why this kind of poster usually doesn't get much response. If Clint hadn't made his comment about how most people don't say anything I probably wouldn't have bothered with my retort.

It's my personal position. Others will have theirs. It's nothing to do with my status or my reputation (a thing over which there is not unanimity, though I thank you for what you have said here).

While what I posted is my personal viewpoint, and whilst others may and are absolutely entitled to differ, rule 8 might make interesting reading.

Actually, there is a rule that states that only members with 100 posts or more are allowed to post their own clips or videos (you can read it in the "rules" thread), to prevent precisely the kind of thing Bob is talking about. The "clips for review" section is really there to encourage members of the forum, who actively participate in threads and discussions, to post their material for others to check out.

The rule is not enforced very strictly at this point, but it's there nonetheless. I agree with Bob's point here.

I understand we are all trying to build a community here, and so far I think its the best in SA.
But remember... we were all newbies at a stage and all had to start somewhere

We cant argue with the rules of course but a little less aggression I think makes someone feel welcome to this forum
I think ultimately thats what we want to achieve in this forum right? to come together as we share a common interest in music.

I agree overall, but OneDayClint has only posted the odd clip since he joined in May last year, and then appeared to get a little testy at the amount of feedback he was getting.

The best way to feel welcome on this forum is to get involved and tell us more about yourself and your interests, gear, skills etc. OneDayClint runs a studio, which means he might have a wealth of info to offer other members, so it would be great if he could share some of that stuff.

I gave it a listen Clint....do not like it at all. And it's not because,as you say, "heavier variety of music".....but more along the lines of ...it does not move me at all......but then it's just my taste :-\

The clean vocals have a nails-on-chalkboard effect for me. Every song in this genre does it exactly the same way, it's totally predictable.

Production-wise I could've used a little more bite. The guitars are so super smoothly compressed into/under the drums & vocals.

But then, on a different day it could be different. I just switched from Revocation (sublime!) to this, to give you a point of reference. And maybe I'm just a jaded old nag.
