I'm a pickup geek, so new guitar for me = a frenzy of research on pickups.
Me too. ? Just wanted to hear the stock set on my rig. I'll still give it a couple of months, to be sure - and I'll try my Lollar in the neck sometime - it's a good "known quantity" for me.
Allow me to sow some seeds to aid your researching <snip> Wolfetone Dr Vintage pickpups, Skatterbrane Earthbranes/ Woodbranes. WCR BetSet.
All considered already. Main contenders are still Imperials, Fralin Pure PAFs and the RS/Fralin True '60s (although the relicing on the latter isn't to my taste). Also still considering going out left field and getting the TV Classics.
Klein '58s.
Hadn't checked him out.
Locally Dimarzio 36th Anniversary PAFs are really nice considering the relatively low price
May be a touch too ballsy for me. Air Classics might be more of an option or 36th at the bridge and Air Classic at the neck. In my experience though, the DiMarzios are generally potted heavier than I like on a low powered pickup in a resonant guitar.
Too many damn choices these days, and they all look good...

When I looked for pickups those Dimarzios were more expensive than the Bareknuckles, so I went with the 'knuckles. Some 'fancy' pickups aren't as expensive as people may think, although, not cheap either.
BKP were up there with the top handwounds when I looked. Plus I have a good relationship with DiMarzio and their distributor, having helped to hook them up with each other.
