They look legit. However, they seem to be the Saga kits or something similar, so no great shakes (basswood bodies, Asian hardware). Also, I see it's all "pre-order specials" - which could mean they wait until they get enough orders and payments, then import a batch. Still, decent prices (less that I pay for a neck) and kits are a good way to start building without getting into the minutiae of it all.
Looks Interesting, Wasn't Giggsy selling somthing like this a while ago ?
The first thing I thought of was them being Saga kits.

This one........http://www.blackbeardsden.com/collections/diy-guitars/products/eg-btu-12b looks just like this one........ http://www.sagamusic.com/products/product-details.aspx?item=ST-10 (click on the unfinished parts pic on the bottom).

Right now the price in $'s would equal about R1800 and they are asking $2000 on sale. Not too bad given the VAT etc and whatever else in fees would be added if you imported it yourself.....plus them making a small profit. In fact it looks like a loser deal for them. Of course they get them a bit cheaper also. I have no idea how good the kits are. Might be a nice project though.
Thanks for the replies guys, maybe I can twist the wife's arm for some funding. I will however replace the hardware with some higher quality parts as time goes by. How would I paint this? Should I rather go to neon gecko to do painting and final setup?

I sprayed a pedal enclosure once which didn't came out too kak... ?

Unless you want to to give it one more whirl, otherwise Neon Gecko, Absolutely!

came across this thread another one on guitarforum while google searching

i can vouch for blackbeards den guitars. I bought 2 off bid or buy recently. A set-neck les paul and a bolt on telecaster. Both amazing. better quality then anticipated.

the hardware is surprisingly good. Definitely not top of the range though but quality for the asking price.

Anyway, just throwing in my 2 cents
