Damn some of these are horror stories!
Not so much regret, but "mixed feelings", I traded a 62 reissue tele for a 52 reissue tele. I think I did the the "right thing"?
You reckon?? I once swapped a Lake Placid Blue '63 L-series Strat for a Hohner GT2 and a Tascam four track. Considering they are now worth over 30,000USD, I should be contemplating jumping off a tall building.
The cake is officially yours - I'd have cried...and I really like my Hohner GT2!
Musically, I havn't had any real regrets (yet).
Amps : Had a Marshall Super Bass 100W for a while - don't miss it, value-wise it wasn't original & was real beatup. Lab Series L5 - great amp, waaayyy too heavy. Might miss that someday.
Guitars : None. I'd miss my current strat if something happened to it.
Bass : Ibanez Soundgear GSR200, first 'proper bass'. Should have kept that, it was such a player - no value in it though, just played & sounded great. The ones I've tried since don't really have the same feel for some reason.
The one item I should have hung onto longer - 1973 Ford Capri Perana. Bought 1997 for R16000, Sold in 1999 for R17500 (don't ask how much I threw into it). Was at a car show a while ago, a decent replica was valued at R350 000. Mine was pretty mint when I sold it... the funny part is that, in 2001, the owner phoned me to ask if I wanted to buy it back for around R22 000 :?
