Manfred-Klose if you don't like swearing, don't watch this. for rest, those that know Scott Grove, . = and here some stuff on tonewoods haha =
vic Chabenda wrote Apologies to Vic but I loved the Gibson comment! A dog with a sock in it's mouth! :roflmao: LOL ! That MF is somewhat entertaining.... ? Food for thought indeed.... I wonder if he'd waded into the vintage market (with all its myths) yet..... :?
Wizard Provocative views are always good. Either trigger you to think of new things and change your mind; or entrench your own opinion even deeper. Both are good outcomes.

Gearhead Yeah we assess the effect on tone of a fingerboard by striking an open string and obscuring it even more by doing this unplugged. Then, we assess the effect of inlays away from the frets by actually fretting them, but as soon as we start talking about inlays underneath frets we bend notes into the affected area (as though the harmonic content of a string's vibration will change dramatically while it is vibrating). Clearly, Mr. Grove is in the category of people who believe that the earth is flat (looking over a ruler towards the horizon) and the sun rotates around it, the same folk who have it that lead falls faster than water and that there ain't no substitute for cubic inches. Best of all: if he would follow his own advice (practice more playing the guitar, talk less about it) he would not make such a fool of himself in these videos. He might have actually played one of his guitars instead of holding them up in front of the camera.

Tokai-SA Vic wrote OK....non-believers check this out.... ? = lol, thanks for posting this, I'm having a massive laugh. ? This guy has a great sense of humour, and he's a mean guitar player as well.
Chocklit_Thunda I'm kinda in the same camp as this dude.... Don't get me wron he's a pretentious "A"-word but I do kinda agree with him....
psyx Alan Ratcliffe wrote Not funny. Just sad and annoying. I tend to second that. His opinion of guitar wood not having an effect on tone was contrary to everything Ive heard from a million people... But I guess he knows more than we do? :-\
Chabenda I once swapped necks between a '65 and a '63 strat. The difference in tone was absolutely incredible. Certainly not a figment of imagination.
