Fender Strat '62 AVRI and Gibson Les Paul '59 RI

'62 AVRI with 57/62 PUPS. Nice dark rosewood board. Great vintage Fender tone...just the way I like it. The colour is sonic blue, pretty much as in the vertical pic.

'59 RI Gibson Les Paul. Nice subtle flame with a dark rosewood board. a Light weight example...very resonant with good sustain.

What a pair!!!! I love the rosewood fretboard on your Strat - did it come with clay markers? Alan's right about the 'subtle' flame!

You have two instruments there that will hold their own against anything!

@ Norman....the pickguard in the '62 AVRI is cream with a very slight tinge of mint to it....the lighting can be very deceptive
@ Chabenda.....don't think these are clay markers ?
@ Alan....again it depends on the lighting and angle of view. At certain angles one can hardly see any flame

The 57/62's gives the typical Strat sound you hear on early recordings..."biting" but round and warm..... the CS 69's (in my CS Strat) on the other hand are more modern sounding with some icy edges to some notes....especially in the higher treble register. I don't like that....They say one can improve or eradicate that by wiring the bridge pup to all pup positions.....? That's what I'm gonna try first.

I dont know the fat 50's...but maybe you could consider a similar rewiring for your strat....?

Same R9 Singe....the older pic was somewhat crappier than this one....LOL !....and it was only of the body of course.

Vic, those are some great looking guitars. I love the colour of the 2 strats and you know how I feel about Gibsons ? Lovely top on that LP. I have realised I am a RW strat guy, so one may join the stable eventually ?
