Speaker question
Wormwood
Hi Guys
Sorry to ask this in a whole new thread, but there is a VOX warfdale speaker in the classifieds
I have a new CUB 12r with a celestion rocket 50 inside, and id like to change the speaker (which sucks when cranked) out for something a bit better.
I was holding off to get a better celestion vintage but saw the classified and wondered if that would be a decent replacement for the rocket 50?
the amp impedance is 8 ohms ( 8 / 16 on the speaker out)

Difficult to say - they are both entry level speakers, so while they might be different, I'm not sure that one will be "better" than the other. Only real way to know is to try it and see. Or hold out and buy something you know will be better...

Thank you.
I couldn't find any decent specifications list on the warfdale to compare them but it seems that most people yank them out in favour of G12h or the celestion blue anyway.
i guess the price is a good indication of an "if its too good to be true" scenario.
2 grand for a decent speaker is not too long a wait really, i saw them on yebo electronics:

You could also contact J.P. Le Roux he always has a few Jensens and Celestions on hand which he uses in his custom amps

I bought my Vintage 30's through them and have dealt with them since my college days. The only thing with the speakers is they don't stock them and typically can't tell you when they will arrive as they bring in huge shipments of parts and so only when that container of theirs is filled then your speakers will come home. If you're willing to wait go for it. Otherwise check out some of the music stores as well... sometimes they have stock.
