Too good to be true?

This guy either has a Marc Maingard jazz guitar for sale and really doesn't know it ( and what they are actually worth), or is a pretty shrewd con. Posting it here instead of the Fraud section, because it might just be the score of the year for a lucky Capetonian who can check out the guitar in person.

From here it looks like the real deal. And there's not many factories knocking out cheap Maingard imitations.

Worth going to check out.

People don't always know what they've got. I recall a Maingard classical, with Brazilian Rosewood back and sides that ended up at McGibbon's. It had been converted into an ornament with an incandescent electric lamp in the soundhole. Totally ruined.

Whatever it is, it's not in perfect condition. Take a good look.

And the case is not original.

You probably would not get the full value for this instrument in SA. Also see above - not in perfect condition.
