Shawn O'Neill is a luthier that lives here in Durban. He has built some truly beautiful guitars, some of which are owned by fellow forumite Sebastian. He is a stellar man, and I am very excited to show you guys the beginning stages of my T type ?
I am in love with the tele bridge pickup tone - Brent Mason, Brad Paisley, and also Jack White's use of a tele on his new album. I also have been chalishing for a tele with a bigsby. So, one night, in lieu of studying for Economics, I mocked this up:

I have yet to decide on the final colour. I am also considering this;

Which would hopefully look like this:

Colour and stiff aside, you're probably wondering why the hell I have chosen a neck humbucker? Well, fair reader, this young lad once owner an Epiphone Dot, which he sorely misses. I am hoping that a low wind neck humbucker will fill the void. I am also not the biggest fan of tele neck pickups, and I want a guitar that is tonally distinct from my strat. Shawn winds his own pickups, so we're going to have fun choosing the right pair ?
In terms of hardware, we've gone for the best: Callaham tele bridge (modified by callaham for use with a bigsby), B5 bigsby, and Gotoh 510's. 2 piece lightweight swamp ash body, 2 piece maple neck with birdseye maple fretboard. 25.5" scale length (I mean is there any other?!), compound 9.5" to 12" fretboard radius. Here's the work so far:
