Les Paul GAS

Been watching Joe Bonamassa - Live from the Royal Albert Hall and the Les Paul GAS is biting. Listening to the keyboard intro to Sloe Gin and Joe doesn't have to do much, just fondles the strings on his Gold Top and the goosebumps are rising. I can hear bits of Frampton in his playing as well! I bought a Snowy White CD last week, It's really crap but the tone he gets out of his LP is amazing And now I am listening to Warren Haynes.... ... will there be any rest until I get one ???

My advice would be to lie low and wait for the guitar of your dreams to come along in the classifieds (or gumtree). You will know when you see it!
Till then... Practice practice practice ?

I owned and played an Ibanez Artist years ago.
I replaced the stock pick-ups with Seymour Duncan
ones.....but...even then....naahhh.

Although it was a nice piece of wood with good action
it was nowhere near as sweet as the 1980's Les Paul
I sold it to finance!

What is wrong with you people? I've been offline for a while and when I checked back in I thought a thread titled "Les Paul GAS" might be a great one to get my juices flowing again - but the entire thread has only a single low resolution picture of an actual Les Paul? Srsly? Threads with titles like these should be littered with eye candy. ???

Good Point Deefstes ?

My main motivation on starting this thread was more to do with the tone from a LP, so there should be a whole bunch more clips, or even video on the likes of Warren Haynes, Snowy White, Joe Bonamassa, Slash, Peter Frampton and whoever else gets that sweet spot on a LP.....

Need more info about the one on the left!

PS: If all goes according to plan, a grand old lady is coming to visit this afternoon, after which I'll post my pic! ?

It was a 2002 R8 that got a makeover. Looking forward to your post ?

Dunno bout those Les Pauls, but there's some pretty Fender amp action happening in the back there ?

My thunks exactly. Also found myself wishing the clutter in the foreground wasn't there... ?

The only LP player I've really liked for tone was Clapton back then. OK... there were others, but the LP always seemed to have a modification (Page) or a defect that bought a benefit (Green).

Pornography, I say! But seriously, it's a beautiful guitar. Wine Red Les Paul's make me happy in the pant area :-[
