My view on the matter: I played in an old age home and no one brought me tea, how rude! and my ass ain't hairy; Clarinetists are tits, hence clarinetits; I already burn in a hell with a cheaply made Chinese knock off- neck warping guitar so BRING IT ON; some babies backsides are not smooth; Tokai is a place next to Kirstenhoff and needle work is a waste of time, rather spew nonsense on a forum.

The problem is we have a lot of regular posters that have been posting for a while, most with very distinctive likes and dislikes. So when you want to start a post about something that might be contentious, you already have a fairly good idea of which way the wind will be blowing and from which direction the cack will hit you hardest. Also, nobody wants to be considered a troll, so unless it's really topical and current nobody wants to touch it.

Besides, I'm pretty comfortable with myself and my tastes and also pretty set in my views, so it has to be a very convincing argument to make me change my opinion of something. I have long since made peace with the fact that that my views and tastes are in the minority here, and that's fine by me. For instance, I believe that:

Modeling amps are better value for the non-gigging guitarist than any tube amp.
If it's a Les Paul it has to be a Gibson
I will rather listen to The Parlotones than most new Metal bands and all Heavy Metal bands. Shredding is as big a pain to listen to as Rap.
