So I was fortunate to get some Red Elm hard wood to make an entire combo cab or head & Cab enclosure , to finish my Carolina Songbird (15W SE) Amp. so depending on the speaker I choose It will be either a combo or a head & closed back cab.
Woods been plained and planks are joined, its looking pretty damn nice for a tabletop. (and no fingre tips missing) Paulo the Cabinet Maker dude, remarked that it's a great alternative to Cherry wood, he's pretty sure the wood merchant cocked it up somewhere... anyway I am am extremely happy either way, the wood have a very nice figure. and the prices was cheaper than pine per cube. So everything will be made out of Red Elm.
I have been tossing with the idea of putting 2 x 10" speakers in along the lines of the Eminence Ramrod' or Legends, however, seeing as our friends at Takealot don't import from the US anymore.... I was thinking along the lines of the Jensen 10's and to buy them locally .... (its ridiculous how cheap some of the Eminence speaker are in the US... one would double the price importing to SA)
So Chaps any advice will be appreciated ... where, who, what ..... talk to me
