if i were to start over today i would do cisco qualifications and get to be a CCIE as soon as possible ...these guys earn ridiculous amounts of cash these days and due to this being a tough qualification there are few of them ....so doing these exams is not a waste of time .....moms want their kids to be CCIE's these days (not doctors naymore)
if i were to start over from when i did back in the 80's ...damn i shoulda finished my degree when i started it ...would of made the difference to me ...... eventually did finish my first degree but that took all of 12 years ,,,dumbass that i am..,.... been easier with a degree , ppl take me more seriously and it opens doors.....education does that...
good luck whatever you decide to do , edcation is nio guarantee of success, some will argue education is actually a detriment to success (depends on ones definition of success i guess)
Is it expensive to do that degree?
I assume you mean the CCIE ,,, yes it is expensive and you would npt be able to do it without actually working on cisco equipment in the workplace...but it starts off with a CCNA, CCNP etc etc an the pinnacle is CCIE ....would take around 6 to 7 years if you are diligent but you working as you learning so you earning cash ......and loads of companies will actually pay for you to do the CCIE ...its a qualification well worth achieving.
if you are referring to my university degree, i study part time ..... and work ..degree itself was not expensive to me as my then company paid me to study .... since then i study anyway at my cost ....costs me around 10 grand a year including books .....
if u went to full time university study fees alone could be around 40k , then books etc etc ,,,it is expensive unfortunately ...and busaries are not readily obtainable for some....
