New Guitar day

I have been waiting for years to get a Strat. Thank you to some on the forum (Alan, Bob etc) who advised me on which Strat is likely to produce the sound I was after. A BIG thank you to Brendan Peackock (Ex GFSA) who gave me 2 Strats on loan for a couple of weeks to help me make up my mind. Anyway, so it arrived yesterday and here are some pics. This is how it arrived in it's very rugged and spiffy Fender case. The kind Fender people ship these with jack cable, strap and cleaning cloth. Here the finish on the neck is quite visible (apologies for the slight blur, I was shaking), I have always wanted a Maple neck. And here are 2 pics where the maple grain is visible. I am very happy and hope that new sounds will open up to me with much practice.

I agree those are cool, but I think there are a couple of Sienna Burst fans on this here forum that might disagree with you! ?

Some things just are. You don't want mushroom sauce on bubble and squeak, or salmon pate on your toad in the hole.

Thank you everyone ?

I played her again last night and now I am thoroughly smitten!!!

Is an old Marshall 80W Valvestate I got as a gift in 1995.

Salmon pink is also a great '60s colour.

I love my Baby Blue strat to bits, but I can't help thinking I would have loved her even more if she was that colour instead. :-[ Enjoy!!
It is a great colour; I think it's possibly the only cool solid colour ?

So foam green for me please, or fiesta red, or lake placid blue or even surf green

Nah, I like me a burst:

MAybe a red, but for me I think it's white or a burst.

Gee Singe , That's more like "Porno Nipple Pink" !!! ? Is that an original standard paint job? The two string trees would date it as late '72 onwards (Or a re-issue?). The original Salmon Pink should be as below (If this dumbass can remember how to upload)

Nice guitar Conrad - Enjoy!!!

I would want the guitar just for the colour if they called it that!

You mean this mirrors the strat you want? otherwise your'd be like Jimi...

Congrats Conrad. Many people, (except those of the Nick variety ?) enjoy a good strat.
I'm keen to hear your fingerstyle efforts on it.

NOTHING beats the smell when you open that case for the first time, and ever after. Got mine 3TSB and maple neck direct from USA in original vintage tweed case, also imported the Fender Superchamp xd, what a pairing.

Congrats Bassman

As far as I know only the Blond Fenders have ash bodies. Also the most sought after and sold colour for Fender Strats is 3 Tone Sunburst and the most wanted neck is Maple.

Wow dude that is a beautiful Strat, congrats!

I'm also getting my first Strat but its second-hand. I have the body already, fully loaded, now just waiting for the neck to arrive ?
