Possible Fuzzsilla Kit?

Hi Guys, Long time readers would know I designed a Fuzz pedal called Fuzzsilla a while back. I only ever built 13 of them and they were snapped up by some of SA's top session players and bands like Dan Patlansky, Robin Walsh (used on Jessie Clegg's new record and several other studio sessions), Johnny De Ridder (Fokofpolisiekar), Carl Wegelin (Plush, JacSharp) even our own Alan Ratcliffe. I get e-mails from all over about making another run, but I won't, not commercially, but I have enough parts kits to build up another 10 pedals, well bar the footswitches, I'll need to order in. One of the beauties of design is that it's all on board parts, bar the battery snap, making the build very easy, even for a beginner. I WON'T be offering enclosures, you'll need to buy and drill your own, though I can give you a rough drill plot and part number of the Hammond cases I used. I need to cost it out, but my guess is the basic bare bones kit, all the parts and PCB will be R350.00. Is it viable? Anyone keen?

OK...Got my Kit on Friday (Yesterday) and have just finished building it...... ? ?

I've just hooked it into my amp and........I'M LOVING IT...... ?arty: ?arty: ?arty:......It's so different to anything else I have pedal wise.....

I especially love the combination of the fuzilla with the OD channel on my TC-8W...........Fuzz insanity... ? ?.....

I also love the gate feature......makes for that nice spluttery sound......loving it.......

Next test.....put it in front of my SD Twin Tube.......... ? ? ?

My too favourites as well - how it sounds into a driven amp, and that gate control ?

Just finished soldering my kit. I haven't had a chance to crank the a properly just yet (or try it with my guitar) but it sounds pretty awesome with my bass. Looking forward to having a go with some more volume and my telecaster. Love the gate knob, I can get the synthy textures of the buzz fuss and clean it up all the way back to an overdrivey sound.

This is finished and in a box - with a nod to Matt's original artwork and colour scheme, but black and white to match my tele and all the other pedals I've made for my guitar pedalboard. There are tons of tones to be tweaked out of this pedal, with nice interaction between the three controls and the drive of the guitar. I can also confirm that it's a good fit in RS's 1590b equivalent- part number on the packet is 517-3276 (and price is under R40)

Is that a waterslide decal you have the design and labels on?

No water slides yet, unfortunately. The control labels are good old fashioned Letraset, and the Fuzzsilla label is laser printed on paper, then stuck on. Everything gets several coats of Rustoleum clear matte spray varnish.

Ah, cool. I must get hold of some Letraset. I've also found Rustoleum to be good stuff - much better than the cheaper rattle-can paints and clear-coats; worth the price difference too.

After a long time I finally got a kit and built it up. It sounds so fantastic, I just love the full thickness that it has. So stoked!!! My recommendation, do whatever you can to get a hold of one of these! And it sounds epic on bass too! Best thick bass drive that I have played! This is the first time I have played a bass fuzz and actually thought, "I could use this somewhere!"

I was surprised at how good this sounds on bass, Fuzz Face circuits can thin things out too much, but this lets a lot of body through
