Hey guys, have any of you seen the TC Electronic Polytune Mini in any of the stores in the Joburg area? I'm keen to free up some real estate on my pedalboard.
TC Electronic Polytune Mini Availability?
TOMS Sandton definitely have.
I got mine from Music Connection so they may still have.

Not sure about JHB area but saw one at MusicMate Ferrieglen this weekend. They charge an arm and a leg for it though.

I selling a brand new TC Polytune Mini for R850.

Just in case somebody missed this...Gerdie wrote: I selling a brand new TC Polytune Mini for R850.
sorry to sound like an ass, but you can get one new from a few shops at R800...
less even depending on the shops...
otherwise, if you're after the tuning accuracy and not the size, the Korg Pitchblack Poly has a much higher tuning accuracy, to 0.01 cents iirc...

I picked one up last week at Marshall Music in Woodmead for a pretty good price, very happy with it save for one thing: my Boss TU-2 had a 9v DC out to daisy-chain another pedal in with power, and this doesn't. One thing I didn't factor in for my planning was the fact that I'm currently using all 8 of the 9v outputs on my Voodoo Labs Pedal Power unit, and I've got 9 pedals on my board (including the tuner)...
So, in addition to my original query: does anyone know a shop in the JHB area that's currently stocking those One-Spot power jobbies?

Ah, actually no, I don't need another 9v PSU, I'm actually just after the daisy-chain extensions so I can run an extra couple of pedals off the same output of the Pedal Power unit, anyone know who's stocking those?RJN wrote:

I picked one up from Music Mate Seb.
Also, I know it depends on the pedals, but how many pedals, as a general rule, can you run off a single 9v PSU?
Depends on current draw. Add up the current of all your pedals and make sure it does not exceed the current capacity of your PSU.
When i was using a daisy chain with my poltune, it would create a hiss when the LED's lit up (during tuning).
I'd advise against going that route and get a proper supply that has isolated power for your pedals, or just make sure you're running your polytune on a separate power source. I wasn't drawing too much power at that time either, so i can only imagine that it was sending bad power down to the rest of my gear when turned on. I think Jeremy E had the same problem? Not sure if he's changed his power supply yet, or is just putting up with the hiss (i put up with it for about a year before changing my supply out)
