This is my first working FX build, the Bazz Fuss (http://www.home-wrecker.com/bazz.html). Really simple circuit, 1 transistor, 1 resistor, 1 diode, 2 capacitors and it has an awesome sound on both bass and guitar.
I'll be adding a trim pot for the volume, but leaving the gain as is, it's nice and touch sensitive, cleans up well when you pull back.

The next step is to get it into an enclosure and wired up with bypass. Does anyone have sources for enclosures and footswitches? I see mantech stocks them. Does nayone have experience with dealing with them?

Yup. Mantech are good. Just place an online order before you go in. It'll save a lot of time and hassle.

      Thanks for the link

Thanks, good to know. They've also got some obscure ICs I've been hunting for, so it looks like I'll bebuilding a digital delay and a phaser soon
If you go to Mantech in Joburg (not sure if they have other branches), stop in at RSE just down the road from them first. Most of the time RSE has what I'm looking for and is cheaper. Mantech is much more comprehensive, but ordering does take some time.

            +1
They're a much smaller shop and have more time to talk and give advice. No online ordering unfortunately.
              Yo,

For enclosures, Communica stocks the standard Hammond 1590B and 1590BB, where Mantech does not.
RSE also has the Hammonds at a much higher price, but also their own "RS" enclosures at VERY reasonable prices.

For 3pdt switch, Mantech stocks at about R40.
I prefer to order mine off eBay as WAY cheaper (R20) and they have bigger solder lugs compared to Mantech's.
But then there's a 2/3 week waiting period.

For components, I get everything else from Mantech as its MUCH cheaper then RSE and Communica often doesn't have specific components. For the hard to find components, RSE does have everything under the sun though, and the delivery is cool to.

              Hope that helps ?

Thanks! That helps a lot. Ebay is a bit iffy for me, at elast my local post office is a bit iffy, about 50% of the things I order make it through, but knowing which places are best for each item is useful ?
