  • Pickup suggestions for Fender Nashville Tele

I have a Fender Nashville Tele Deluxe. It currently has the Tex Mex factory pickups. It basically has two Tele pickups (neck and bridge) and a start pickup in the middle.

I have a Peavey Classic 30 amp (90's model) and use a Line 6 M13 Stompbox Modeler pedal.

I play blues, rock (not to heavy) and light jazz.

What pickup replacements, if any, should I consider?

Thanks in advance
None, if you're happy with how the guitar sounds. Are you?
Yes I 'm happy with the tone. However, I'd like it to be more 'warm'... Somewhere along a John Mayer tone (while still being unique). Hope it makes sense

Tricky to say, Teles are bright guitars. I turn the tone knob on mine down to 3 or so if I want a warmer sound. Also try turning the amp up more and turn the guitar volume down to compensate, see if that helps.
+1. Depends on what you think of the current set and where you want to take it. It's actually quite a nice set of pickups for that guitar (I especially liked the middle pickup).

Edit: You replied before I could. Funny, I wouldn't describe Mayer's tone as particularly warm, more mid-scooped, but it's all relative - the Tex-Mex pickups can be a bit glassy. I'd Probably leave the Strat pickup and go Seymour Duncan for the Tele pups - Alnico Pro IIs in neck and bridge, maybe a Jerry Donahue bridge If I wanted more grunt.
            Agree with Alan and ez.

I had Tex Mex pickups in my Fender Roadworn 60s Strat, they were very nice pickups.
I also had Texas Specials in my Fender 68 RI Strat.
To warm up the tone I found lowering the pickups helped a lot, especially with the Texas Specials.
Instead of changing pickups, why not play with the pots and wiring? Try a different tone capacitor value... A tone cap that acts over a wider frequency range might suit your needs better
Jerry Donahue Bridge. Don't mess around.
