Ok i have come across one of these celestion G12H and it says max 25w and has green metal section around magnet and gold label , its used and i just wanna know if its one of the better celestions and what kinda price do they fetch 2nd hand i see they $149 new but they say the rating is 30w this one says 25w on back ,

so i know fender/eminence/jensen speakers well but not celestion or should i say only the budget ones found in stock amps

help ?
I've got two of them in my cab. Mine is the G12H30 Anniversary models (cheaper). They sit sonically somewhere between a G12M Greenback and a Vintage 30, brighter and more bass than a Greenback but not as much treble and mids as a Vintage 30. They are 100dB so are pretty efficient.

They go for about R1800 new I think. I like mine a LOT. Depends on the amp I guess. These are the speakers you find in the Laney Lionheart amps and cabs I believe.
A good speaker, but bit of a more rock tonality IMO. I've seen them listed between R800 - R1000 s/h.
Also have one in my Egnater Tweaker... I can echo Ez's sentiment. I also really like mine.
Cool! Interesting that it is 25W and not 30W. Is it quite old? What is the impedance?
Does it have Rola on the green back?

I would buy instantly at that price, if ok condition.
              ....
I have a Warehouse Guitar Speaker version of the greenback and the vintage, about $70 & $80 ea. IMO thats excellent value, the downside is that they don't have the Celestion resale value. I understand that tone and quality are v. similar to Celestion.
Look at "green beret" & "reaper" at wgs4.com.
As far as I understand the G12H is the greenback with larger magnet & coil. The 2 are often paired.
The differences between the two Greenbacks G12M and G12H are adequately explained on www.celestion.com
The price differences you will see between good condition pre-Rola Greenbacks (~R1600) and more recent types or damaged condition are very significant.
                  Still doesn't make any sense. A 25Watter G12H?
