i have one which i use as my main home practice amp. REason i like these is cos when i go on holiday i can take them alonganywhere i go as they can use batteries too. I always keep a battery powered amp along to tinker with.

I like the mini, i like the FUSE software concept andi like the ability to get into the guts of an amp. I think this technology will be deployed in all amps in the near future and various makers have started on similar concepts. i also bought a super champ
X2 with similarcapabilities although its a tube amp.

the downside of the mini is that the speaker size an wattage does not allow for complete expereince of the various tones like its bigger siblings....the drive tones i have created and downloaded are good , the clean channels tad less good. A nice enough amp ireckon andits prettyloud for7 watts but end of the day its a small speaker which hampers it.

Have you ever tried using the Headphone out as a DI out into something bigger. I like the idea of having a little something I can throw in my boot and jam at random places.

I have not tried that and i think that would do the trick ..... yip the portability and the ability to jam in the middle of nowhere is why i always have a battery powered amp around.

The other thing , is this amp used 6 x C size batteries whereas the vox used 6 x AA batteries which is quite a difference when buying batteries with the C's beingabout twice as expensive. They do last a tad longer though.

If I may ask, what did you pay for the MINI?

i paid 1350 for it IIRC. I ordered it when i first heard about the mini around october last year , they landed in Feb 2012.
I haven't played the Mini, but even the bigger ones are very light/compact and sound great through the Headphone/DI. They use a slightly scaled down version of the same amps and effects in the smaller ones, so they should sound the same DI'd.
