So a little while ago I stumbled across this tread on GFSA http://www.guitarforum.co.za/guitar-gear/my-new-strap/ that got the old cogs in my head grinding away.

After many discussions and emails, I received this in my in-box this afternoon and to say that I stoked would be an understatement! Now I can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on em.

These leather straps were custom made for our one range of guitars by our very own Hammeron. She is one seriously talented lady... :applause:
    Damn, those are nice!
fantastic,,, what a talented lady!! :applause:
Wow those are really wicked! I want one! Or maybe 2...

That she is! ? This is some really cool work.
Really cool Hammeron - well done!
I want a special strap for my new Les Paul ?. I went to a local leather jacket maker. The thickest leather he has is the stuff they make hand bags off. I feel uncomfertable with it, it just does not look that it will be able to handel the weight of the instrument. :-\
              1. Am I justified in being worried?
              2. Does any one on the forum make leather straps or know who I can conact?
              Thanks.
While even thin leather straps are unlikely to break, they do tend to stretch (especially in wet weather). You need the proper stuff they use for harnesses, saddles and holsters. A good, thick strap might be very stiff at first, but once it breaks in, it will last for life. You do also get very supple thick leather from places like Argentina, but that pushes up the price a lot. Some leather straps use suede on the inside (very soft and supple and nice to wear) and some really stiff stuff on the outside for durability and stiffness.

Speak to Hammeron - she's the one who made the straps above. While she may not respond on forum, you can PM her:
