Hi, if there are any electronics gurus who have the time to offer some advice I would greatly appreciate it.

I bought an Ibanez TSA5 amp (with built in Tube Screamer circuit) this weekend and while Ibanez does make a footswitch to activate the TS, it is not included and has to be bought separately.

I tested out a footswitch that I built to use as a tap-tempo for my delay and it seemed to work 100%. The only problem is it is non-latching. So I have no doubt that I could built another pedal with a latching switch to activate the TS circuit, my only question is - is there any chance this could damage the amp? - it will be a very simple circuit with no LEDs or buffers, just the switch connected to a mono jack.

Amp specs can be found here: http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/amp_page12.php?area_id=4&ampl_id=42&year=2012&cat_id=5&series_id=38

And here is the footswitch Ibanez makes for it (Not much detail unfortunately): http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/amp_page12.php?area_id=4&ampl_id=47&year=2012&cat_id=5&series_id=38

Not at all, it's just a switch shorting tip to sleeve.
