FUZZ is there an ultimate

So I am very much a fuzz fan ? Since MIKA put a video up from Black Keys it made my GAS for fuzz go to an entire new level. So is there an "ultimate fuzz" out there? if you where to put 1 fuzz on your board what would it be? I have a little big muff, mxr classic 108 fuzz and a Zvex Fuzz factory. I often find the fuzzes to be too woofy or too ear piercing ( I run single coils mostly) here are some of the better fuzz pedals I have found = = =

Once you get the fuzzes then you move onto the Uni Vibes, and that's another world.
Check out the Kevin Randall (KR Musical products) Uni Vibes...excellent.
I just cant sell my Bob Sweet "Mojo Vibe"...a thing of beauty, sounds great with some fuzz...thanks to Brent for making a mistake and selling it. ?

YES! was on the vibe thing way before funny enough. would love the mojo vibe! it sounds so deep. I didnt have big budget so I went for a voodoo labs micro vibe, its pretty sweet. Well 1day when you want to pass on the mojo vibe...I am your man ?

I am just saying that most fuzz'es can be EQ'ed away from that tinny/bizzy sounding "bee-in-a-coffee-tin", rubbish tone.

My NYC Big Muff can sound like utter sh*te (if EQ'ed so) or deep, thick, warm & lush sounding that can overwhelm you, like warm honey flooding your tongue.

Yeah Stoner, I'm a bit like Stig of the Dump, having hidden myself away in the bush for so long, eventually crawling out from underneath a stone. Back in my youth a fuzz box was a cheap and nasty Bee in a Tin Can, often home made, with very little in the way of eq. The last time I used one was in about '86. I was fortunate enough to find an Ibanez Sonic Distortion that I still have to this day. I am quite fond of the smoothed out sound. I honestly haven't tried one of the newer fuzzboxes so I will wind my neck in! :-[

Under the label "overdrive", there is a lot off overlap of tones, where they would be acceptable to some degree by many muso's. Under the label "Fuzz", there is so much variation of tones, that there can be labels within fuzz. So muso's who love one fuzz will hate another muso's tone, who would also be using fuzz.
Maybe we should have a fuzz labeling thread, and say which fuzz tone we like.
Labels like 'velcro' 'ring (octave)' 'spatty' smooth' buzzy'..... We leave open to others ?

Oh... I like 'gated velco' 8)

Some people get Fuzz and some do not... I hold no hatred toward those who do not, however I think some players don't know how to use fuzz.
You need a tube amp, and you need to know the sort of fuzz with sort of amp. Such as a Fender Twin + Big Muff + Strat = Bee's in a tin can.

Fuzz for me is either really smooth full rhythm, not for so much articulation but rather for overtones and "Big Fuzz"

Fuzz in my cirrent band is just as Huge and raspy as I can make it, Buzz Saw Square Wave style, which no you cannot get from no tubescreamer.
I find I can get my amp to do what a tube screamer does but better. No amp can give you a Zvex Fuzz Factory sound, or a Bug muff......

Favorite Fuzz pedal Earthquaker Devices Dirt Transmitter, Zvex Fuz Factory, Seymour Duncan Tweak FUzz (weird I know) and Russian Muffs.
