Ok, so by no means am I an expert when it comes to the technical stuff of pedals, amps and guitars etc.

I started to notice noise on my volume pedal when moving from no volume to full volume. What is strange for me is that the noise only occurs at the 30 -70 % range. So from 0-30% no noise, then to about 70% noise and then from 70-100% volume it has no noise again.

Any hints on what this might be? Does a volume pedal like this also use a pot like the volume pots on the guitar? If it does, does this means that the pots might be dusty?

If anyone can help on this one I would appreciate it
Sounds to me like dusty pots, but I'm no expert either ?
What kind of noise? Crackle, hiss, hum? WHile you move the pedal or also if you stop at a certain point?

Hi Alan, it is more of a hum sound and it is basicaly present when pedal is static throughout the spectrum specified as well as whensweeping through the range.

I suspect that it is not so much the pedal, but how the next thing in the chain is responding to the impedance. I've played some amps and pedals that would hum a bit when the guitar's volume was turned down (you'll probably get that too). I'm not sure what the fix would be.

I will then play around with it a bit, but the chain's been set up that way for 3 months and it was the first time this happened.
