iRig and iPad feedback when playing through headphones

Hey, I got myself the iRig so that I can play through my iPad. But when I plug it in and play through my headphones with a distortion effect, I get really bad feedback through my headphones. I read somewhere that if you use a headphone jack to RCA cable, it takes away the feedback. A RCA cable will need to be plugged into some speakers. But then what is the point because you want to be able to take your iPad and guitar anywhere and play through headphones. Does anyone have a solution for this? Thank you!

Personally, I think it's too much of a mission. My goal was something cheap, easy and fun. Not something I'd use professionally.
