Power supplies for pedal board?

Hi everyone,

I'm just starting to build up my pedal collection and I'm sick of using 9v batteries!
Iv seen a lot of the different power supplies that are available here on the forum but I don't know enough about them to decide which one to get :-\
Can anyone suggest some to me that won't break the bank but can power at least 7-10 pedals?

I bought a Dunlop Power Brick and it's perfect for me.

You could also check out the Voodoo Labs power supplies or the T-Rex "Fuel-Tanks".

If you are on a budget, get one of these. 2 amps so will power plenty of pedals, will just need to change the polarity of the plug.

Dunlop Power Brick set me back R1400. It has 7 x 9v jacks and 3 x 18v ones. It's also the size of any MXR/Zvex pedal, so it's pretty nifty.

Yeah, those are solid.

I know custom audio electronics (division of dunlop I think) makes pretty serious power supplies to.

Voodoo labs seems legit tho.

These are great - they can power an entire board of pedals as long as you don't require any funny voltages or tips (eg some eg positive/negative tips)

Flipping awesome!! This is exactly what I have been looking for to stick inside my rack and run 9V along my midi cable to remote power my floor board.

They are earthed, mine is dead quiet. Currently powering 8 or so pedals.

No. They are better than most (if not all) of the name-brand "brick" supplies available with a near ruler flat 9V output. Graeme, the guy that turned us on to them, did a lot of testing and they are about the best supplies out there until you start looking at the proper (and expensive) isolated multi-output supplies like the T-Rex & CIOKS, etc. Graeme posted some test results and oscilloscope pics at the time.

I'm looking at a power supply like this too. I only have 4 pedals but my tuner munches batteries (especially when I forget to unplug the input jack :-[) I like the look (and price) of the Mantech one but I've just got a Boost 'n Buff which runs off 18V so I'm basically looking at something that can power 5 or so pedal and to 9 and 18 volts. The one at the bottom of the page looks to me like it can accept the male output from the Mantech PSU. Would this plus a daisy chain be an option?

For voltage doubling, the outputs of the supply have to be properly isolated from one another - you can't do it with a brick and a daisy chain.

So if I have a 9v multipoint unit then I should be able to double up two of the outputs for 18v?

I've heard Turnkey music do one that's a lot cheaper than the imported ones. Anyone had any experience with these?
